Services

Free Consultation 
Free prenatal interview and consultation with postpartum doula and birth mom with her spouse/partner or family member. During this interview, we will discuss your needs and postpartum birth plan. When hiring a doula, you will have the option of how often, what length and which needs to best fit you and your family. Typically time slots are booked in four hour blocks yet we are able to work around your desired time slots as well as frequency of visits. Please fill out the contact information message to request your free consultation, include days and times that work best for you. 

Phone & Email Support 

I will provide phone and email support throughout your doula contract. Once contract is signed, feel free to call, text, or email with any questions and/or concerns. 

2 Prenatal Visits 

I will offer up to two prenatal visits prior to your birth and doula services. Once contract is signed, we will schedule two visits periodically throughout the last trimester of your pregnancy in order to align all needs to be addressed during the doula services. 

Professional Information 

I am here to offer you support and information so that you may make the best decisions to best fit your family's needs. I will supply you with resources regarding the postpartum period, such as breastfeeding assistance, postpartum depression support, mommy and me groups, pediatricians, newborn equipment and supplies.

During Postpartum Period 

Services may include but not limited to the following: 

Breastfeeding Support, Meal Preparation, Light Housekeeping, Laundry for Family, Errands for Family, Newborn Care, Sibling Care, Emotional Support, Information and Referrals, Instruction in Newborn Care, Newborn Photography (additional charge with Susan Brown Images).

Baby’s first feeding Support 

I am available to assist in the first feeding whether its breast or bottle once you arrive home. Often assistance is provided in the hospital yet once home, additional support may be needed.

As a Doula, I  Do Not:

Perform any clinical tasks

I will not perform clinical or medical task. I will not diagnose conditions in the mother or any other family members. A doula is a non-medical support person to assist with newborn care, sibling adjustment, meal preparation and household organization. 

Make decisions for you 

I will support, guide and refer you with regards to newborn care but a doula is there to give your all the proper information so that you can make an informed decision in which I can support you with overall. 

Speak to the staff on your behalf

I can refer you to proper resources and assist you in seeking out the referrals you will need but I am not able to speak to your medical staff on your behalf while serving you as a doula.  

Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience

As your doula, I will not judge any of your decision, beliefs, or practices.I will not judge your family members and/or friends for their beliefs, decisions or practices. 

Newborn Photography 

Doula By Design recommends using Susan Brown Images. This service is available at an additional fee. As your doula, I will attend the photo shoot to assist with the needs of the baby while you are taking pictures.
